Hm. Lightning bolt might actually work, considering that at least some of the gun is metal - it is likely to blow up, in my opinion. However, getting hit by the shrapnel or bullet is also fairly high.

 

Alternatively, use mind magic to temporarily have the soldier to channel the skill and personality of the storm trooper named Wilhem.
