I do not think being manly has anything to do with it, it is a video game you are playing, not a game of calcio fiorentino.

 

Edit - The Dragon Age games's overall difficulty was always a bit off, some times things were exceptionally easy and then suddenly you hit a wall. Dragon Age 2 was in many ways easier that Dragon Age: Origins, just that they threw countless waves at the player with served to only increase the tedium. That said I found Mass Effect 2/3's Insanity difficulty to be quite well paced and enjoyable.

If the combat turns out to be a chore (all BioWare games), I prefer to play it on easy too, just to get over it quickly.
