WorstUsernameEver Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 So, uhm, they're going for 30 fps? A little disappointing considering the Paper Mario combat style implies that a certain degree of responsiveness in the controls will be needed for the combat widgets (I suppose they'll go easy on the timing?), but at the same time it will probably be the first Obsidian game to have a stable framerate (well, I suppose it would be the second after Dungeon Siege III, but I have heard that on consoles it still had problems of that kind). Also, the fact that the show has a clearly defined animation style and that South Park studios oversees the project and is working closely with them, plus the nature of the project itself, means that we won't get Obsidian's trademark wonky animation. Cool!
WorstUsernameEver Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 It is, but mostly because it's difficult to reach 60 fps with that hardware. It's a bit disappointing to hear that it was the target for Obsidian, although it was because of animation issues with that framerate.
RichardV1150 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Im pretty sure SP runs at 24 or something, or at least the walk-cycle does, 60 fps wouldn't look like South Park, that would be a real drawback for me.
