macrocarl Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I'm about half through AP (I think) and I just wanted to say thank you to Obsidian for making such an awesome game. I have to admit I was a little miffed at low levels and being sneaky. I couldn't get it under control, kept feeling like I failed. The mini-games were tough at first too, but after getting used to everything I have to say this is one of my favorite RPG's ever! I truly feel it smokes Mass Effect 2 and ties with Dragon Age, KOTOR 2, Jade Empire, & the original Mass Effect. That's a huge deal for me and a huge compliment for you! And like I said, I'm only half through and it is totally engrossing. So hats off, thumbs up, bottoms up, rock & roll forever!

Mass Effect had worse technical issues overall and it didn't get the crap this is getting. Of course, though, that was well over 2 years ago. But still, Alpha Protocol & Mass Effect 1 > Mass Effect 2. This game is nowhere near what the reviews make it out to be. Edited June 7, 2010 by Libertarian
Scorpion27 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I would agree. Obsidian came up with a great game once more in spite of the detractors. I would have prefered KOTOR 3 (one can dream can he???) but this is a very good and original game (Does not smoke Mass Effect 2 though let's keep things in perspective shall we!!!). My only regret is the lack of variety in the mission and exploration. Most of it feels like a Tom Clancy game... i would have liked more James Bond... car chase, visit at the casino, pure socializing missions with free roam (not just the overused "meet me at the bar/restaurant" little meet and greet). Overall, more RPG elements... That would be my only complaint. Ok the graphics are a little glitchy, a few bugs persist... SO WHAT!!!! I remember KOTOR 2 being rushed out of the door unfinished and it still was the one game I played the most in my life!!! (I'm not kidding... 30-40 playthrough at least!!! I keep getting back to it in despair... Did i mention I want to play KOTOR 3???) Congratulation to Obsidian in proving that they can indeed be more than just sequel makers and have the talent in story telling to creat truly engrossing plots and magnificent RPGs.
