Purkake Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) I tried to play Quake Live back when it went public, but it was impossible to sign up, let alone play. So I finally remembered about it and signed up. It's basically Quake 3 Arena that runs in your browser at full speed and full Quake 3 graphics. It's also pretty fun. Oh and it's totally free! Edit: apparently they're looking to add private matches as a premium service. That's certainly an interesting idea, I wonder how that will work out. Still it's pretty fun to just do a random deathmatch every now and then in the comfort of your own browser. I demand UT Live! Edited October 26, 2009 by Purkake

Purkake Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Is it even public? From what I've heard it's a complete disaster with unbalanced classes, everything taking way too long to kill and like three maps in total. At least Quake Live managed to copy Q3:A pretty well.

vault_overseer Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Dunno why you hate, it's a decent arcady shooter, very simple and casual. I've had my fun with it and it definitely was worth the price.
Purkake Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 The "price" in this case is the time you spend on it. I'd rather play QL. This really makes me want to reinstall UT, actually. I was always more of a UT fan than Q3 fan.

It's free (based on advertisements) and it's based on an old game already released which DOES have that capability. An open-sourced game, to boot!
