Also, how cool is this

Try this for emotional impact, the first 2 minutes:

Other emotionally powerful moments:

*Shadow of the Colossus as a whole

*FFX endgame

*BGII ToB, conversations before the final confrontation/epilogues

*final scene in Mafia, even thought you know its coming

*Planescape Torment as a whole

I must be playing the wrong games.

You aren't attached to any of the Jagged Alliance Mercs? Razor and Haywire always make me smile.

SOme of their lines make me laugh, but I wouldn't quite call it emotional attachment, I don't think.

Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

Some really great scores in those games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPjjoxtX7VU...feature=related

I couldn't find my other favorites. You can extract them from your game though, although they were never otherwise released.

none of the moments I mentioned did it for ya?

shadow of the colossus? your heart must be like stone

and I thought of another one:

towards the end of world of goo. that existential moment when you climb into the "heavens" to confront "mother". there was so much awe-inspiring whimsy going on i felt like the game had goo'd its way inside my heart.

sounds pretty gross. but it was awesome.

oh snap, and The Darkness: sitting on the couch with the girlfriend and then what ends up happening later. that game was very compelling, and had some solid emotional threads in it too.

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
