Monte Carlo
Hi, Got this yesterday and rolled up a character (Rog3/Ftr5 with spear specialisation / monkey-grip going for a gladiator type vibe) and met 3 NPCs (the female cleric got booted ASAP, which is rare because I'm a tart for keeping useful characters even if they are annoying, and I do like a good undead-spattering cleric). There was one encounter (SPOILER) with the spider dude that I couldn't beat and the levelling up looks agreeably slow. So, I'm going to re-start, we all do it. Don't spoil me, but what character builds did others use and enjoy? Looking at it superficially, it does look rogue-based so I'm thinking a swashbuckling type character. Purkake
I always make some random character and never really care about the build. I just pick what looks nice and doesn't totally screw everything up. It's not like you actually need an optimized build to beat the game.
Starwars
If you're looking at a balanced party, a spellcaster of sorts would be a good choice. The companions available are Rogue, Fighter and Cleric. A Druid with a dinosaur companion is a powerful class. and a good choice That said, I've taken a Rogue and Bard (both single class) through the campaign, and both worked well. The quest with the spider dude is rather hard in the beginning. When I first ran into it, I had only 2 companions and at starting level. It was really rough. Second time, I waited until I had all 3 companions, and that made it quite a lot easier. If you don't want to bring the Cleric along, then wait a few levels before tackling the quest. Monte Carlo
^ That's a shame, I'm not really a spell-casting enthusiast as a main PC. Except for clerics. I like the Fallen Paladin guy and the half-elf not-quite-Annah NPCs but the cleric was so irritating it hurt. Two out of three ain't bad, as Meatloaf used to warble. Thanks for the Druid suggestion though, hadn't thought of it and I quite like them as you can make a pretty cool melee-orientated druid. :: Ponders crazily gimped Druid - Swashbuckler build ::

It's not quite as powerful overall as a normal spellcaster, but if you aren't keen on the standard arcane options... This particularly rapid, unintelligible patter isn't generally heard, and if it is, it doesn't matter.
Starwars
I don't much like the Warlock class (repetetive), but given that MoW starts at level 8, it'd put the class in the sweet spot of the Hellfire Warlock PRC which makes a bit more fun to be honest. Summon Baatezu is an extremely powerful ability when you first get it. Wrath of Dagon
Without the cleric, you're going to miss out on her ragging on the other party members and her catfights with Rhianna, one of which was hilarious.
