Morgoth Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 A new preview is available of the famous Greek tale inspired Action RPG at IGN I really like the art direction, and the combat system seems to take some fresh approaches as well. Rain makes everything better.
Gorth Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I am not quite sold on the combat yet, but the art direction looks very, very nice Worth keeping an eye on and crossing fingers for a demo to try out the combat first. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Moatilliatta Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Doesn't the head of the guy in the first screenshot look very small? I guess it is the effect of wearing the armour of a giant.

Moatilliatta Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I do like the idea about manly muscled men showin manly nipples - we need more games like this.

Morgoth Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 There're two interviews with Ed Castillo on Argonauts, also showing some new gameplay. Part1 Part2 Rain makes everything better.
Laozi Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Canadian Futbol, pfft. People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Moatilliatta Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Sounds pretty cool. Then again, I'll probably wait with buying it to hear if there are any problems with the game.
Musopticon? Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Ed Del Castillo has so far delivered on every game he's been involved with(well, ok, Dragonshard was kinda mediocre). I don't expect disappointment with this one either. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Morgoth Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 (edited) Yeah, when Battle Realms was released I kept an eye on Liquid. And although War of the Ring and Dragonshard were "meh", I have the feeling that Argonauts has the potential to be a sleeper hit. Edited May 16, 2008 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Moatilliatta Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Considering the last three titles from these guys, I'm not willing to trust that they will neccesarily make a good game or neccesarily have no problems upon release, and as such I'll wait and see.
Morgoth Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 Yeah I don't get it why they wasted the talent on these underwhelming titles, they should have been working on Battle Realms 2 instead. Still, Argonauts looks sweet and I'm looking forward to it. Rain makes everything better.
Moatilliatta Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 So am I, but unless I find some way to magically get rich then I need to watch my spending.
Morgoth Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Here's another interview with Ed Del Castillo: Part 3 I really like where they're going with the conversation system. Instead of picking some meaningless nonsense, you pick your choice that favors a god and you get deeds in return. Also, there's an extreme punch-into-face choice! I like that game more and more... Rain makes everything better.
H Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Sounds great. Sometimes I just want to hack stuff and fire up an action/RPG, but I quickly loose my interest because of the complete absence of plot development and character interaction. I really hope Liquid is going to fix this.
Morgoth Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 From the videos, it looks pretty story-driven to me. I trust Ed to take advantage of this great tale, at least he sounds pretty enthusiastic to me. Rain makes everything better.
Musopticon? Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Thanks to the hype brought on by this thread, I'm installing Battle Realms+Wolf Expansion. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Morgoth Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Gamespot interviews Ed Del Castillo Rain makes everything better.
tripleRRR Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I am starting to get quite interested in this game. Using a gamepad to control an FPS is like trying to fight evil through maple syrup.
Morgoth Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Well in fact it's the only decent RPG coming out this year. Fallout3 can lick my hairy ass! Rain makes everything better.
tripleRRR Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 *shrug* Fallout 3 is from bethesda and since I played morrowind for no more than perhaps 2 hours total I am not at all confident that I will like fallout 3 either. Too bad really. Using a gamepad to control an FPS is like trying to fight evil through maple syrup.
Morgoth Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 (edited) And another video: Ed talks about Love. Edit: I just recognized that Ed has an glass eye. Edited May 30, 2008 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Moatilliatta Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Parts of Jason talking looked and sounded a bit off and weird. Other than that this still seems like a game worth buying. Edit: I just recognized that Ed has an glass eye. This changes my life completely.
