Since this is a CPU thread, which of these is better the Core 2 Duo E6850 or the Core 2 Quad Q6600? There both near the same price, in my price range but the E6850 cost a little more than the Quad.

Since I couldn't wait for Newegg to ever get a E8400 in stock, I went for the E6850 instead. I need to get my new PC built now.

Yeah newegg actually took out the e8400s completely and replaced it with the weak e8200s for the same price, and even those are now sold out. Poor saps

NCIX had a stock of them a couple weeks ago, but they seem to be all out now. They are still taking orders for when the get more in. ETA looks to be some time in April for them.
