Musopticon?
I think the biggest love I hold towards HL 2 over HL 1 is the setting. East-bloc dystopia/scifi is, like semitic epic/space opera, a great thematic bunch. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Morgoth
I prefered the HL1 setting. Research complex filled with geeky Scientists, Canyons filled with nasty Marines, Canals filled with suicidal Facehuggers (remember the one that jumped out of a pipe and fell a mile deep?) just gave the game a certain charme.... HL2 just lacked a bit of this humor. Rain makes everything better.
Musopticon?
Well, HL 1 didn't have tumbling and drowning antlions or throwing cans at metrocops. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Meshugger
I think the biggest love I hold towards HL 2 over HL 1 is the setting. East-bloc dystopia/scifi is, like semitic epic/space opera, a great thematic bunch. Agreed. HL1 always felt like an X-files episode with a pretty bland color-palette. HL2 did create an alternative, but interesting future after the events of HL1. Meshugger
Predicted frame-rate on my rig: 10-15fps with medium details @1280x1024. //EDIT: Is the releasedate a coincidence? I think not. Morgoth
Just a quick heads-up: Crysis PC demo coming Sept. 25! Source: http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/27/crysis-d...tem-on-sept-25/ *keeps fingers crossed* But Sept. 25 is a bit early for a game that comes out in mid-November and is still being optimized, especially under DX10. If ATI/Nvidia don't have the new Crysis optimized drivers up then, I suspect there'll be alot of Vista whiners flooting the Internet (again). Rain makes everything better.
