Pope Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) Ave caesar! Morituri te salutamus. (salutant ) Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres, quarum unam incolunt Belgae, aliam Aquitani, tertiam qui ipsorum lingua Celtae, nostra Galli appellantur. Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae. Cantousent Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Yes, every Belgian student who ever studied Latin was forced to memorise the start of De Bello Gallico. Geez, you make it into one ancient document and the whole language goes to pot. MoonFish Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I have a Catapult! Give me your money or I will throw a rock at you This is what you're looking for: "Habeo catapultam. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis ad capul tuum saxum immane mittam." Malkavian greetings... MoonFish O )-( (registered only to answer to this, now i'm gonna disappear. poof!)
Humodour Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Congratulations. You just won some medals. One for tardiness, one for thread necrophilia, and one for obscure but cool Latin. Please, stay.
samm Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Ave caesar! Morituri te salutamus. (salutant ) It's a correct sentence, too. "We moribund salute you" instead of "The moribund salute you" ad capul Did you mean "ad capitem"? Also, I'd choose the intense "iaculari" (to throw) instead of "mittere" (to send), or even the funny phrase of "caput petere lapide" (to try to catch/to aim for/[enter ten other translations here]... the head with a stone, change "lapide" to "saxo" to change stone to rock). group necrophilia, yay! Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
Dark_Raven Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Go, go necrophilia. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
