I thought this was kind of funny:

If you could play for any NHL team (other than your own), which would you choose?

1) Toronto Maple Leafs (34) 14.4%

2) New York Rangers (29) 12.3%

3) Detroit Red Wings (19) 8%

4) Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks (18) 7.6%

5) Dallas Stars (15) 6.3%

6) Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens (14) 5.9%

7) Minnesota Wild and Tampa Bay Lightning (10) 4.2%

8 ) Phoenix Coyotes (9) 3.8%

9) Calgary Flames (8 ) 3.4%

10) Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers (5) 2.1%

11) Nashville Predators, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins (4) 1.7%

12) Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks (3) 1.2%

13) Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres (2) 0.85%

14) Carolina Hurricane and Edmonton Oilers (1) 0.42%

GO LEAFS GO!!

On the other side of the fence:

To what city would you least like to be traded?

1) Buffalo Sabres (40) 16%

2) Edmonton Oilers (28 ) 11.2%

3) New York Islanders (24) 9.6%

4) Pittsburgh Penguins (18 ) 7.2%

5) Florida Panthers (17) 6.8%

6) Carolina Hurricanes and St. Louis Blues (13) 5.2%

7) Washington Capitals (12) 4.8%

8 ) New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers (9) 3.6%

9) Columbus Blue Jackets and Montreal Canadiens (8 ) 3.2%

10) Calgary Flames (7) 2.8%

11) Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings (6) 2.4%

12) Nashville Predators (5) 2%

13) Los Angeles Kings and Ottawa Senators (4) 1.6%

14) Philadelphia Flyers and Phoenix Coyotes (3) 1.2%

15) Atlanta Thrashers, Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs (2) 0.8%

16) Anaheim Ducks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning (1) 0.4%

Uhm.. Edmonton..

"Well, we're facing Atlanta (on away ice) and Pittsburgh (at home) for our next two games. Not exactly teams to sneer at either. I have a feeling we'll lose both."

Nah. They'll win at least one of those. Toronto is playing well. Might even be able to reach the play offs.

Some of thema r epretty obvious.

Some reasons likely include:

Too small (Carolina), too much media attention (NY/TOR), team sucks (STL), team is always cosntantly threatening to move (PIT), instability (fits the other one) (PIT/BUF), overshadowed by a team close by (NJ), etc., etc.

Seriouslyy, the Hockey News is tripe and nothing more. I don't know when the poll was conducted, but to say Edmonton still has the best ice in the league is an indication that anyone who participated in this survey is either on the IR with a concusssion or not too quick to start with. Or maybe they are all from eastern teams who didn't even make the trip to Edmonton this year.

Rexall Place has seen the ice deteriorate for a while now.

Umm, I'm too lazy to reread the link, but I'm pretty sure that this is a poll of NHL players, not fans.

Volo wasn't talking about fans getting to vote, but fans being one of the responses in the best/worst part of NHL life questions. At least that's what I thought...

"That's because not all fans are as honest as you Vol."

I think you missed the point. I menat if the player swere brutally honest, the fans likely would have been amongst the 'worst things' about their job. Heh.

Crap. We lost to Atlanta. Now we have to win against Pittsburgh. Easier said than done. I was hoping we'd be able to beat Atlanta, but my hopes are slimmer against red hot Pittsburgh. Still, all is not lost yet.

We managed to win after all! Even after we let in the equalizing goal with only FOUR seconds remaining of the game! When that happened I was sure that Pittsburgh would bring the positive momentum into the OT, but the Leafs scored first and won! WOO!

And tonight is an extremely important game as well! Leafs vs. Rangers. If the leafs win this one, we're in the play-offs (momentarily..). If we lose this one, it will be extremely difficult to gain ground on the teams ahead of us.

BUT WE WILL WIN! WE WILL SHOOT HOLES THROUGH LUNDQUIST IF WE HAVE TO! GO LEAFS GO!

This is gonna be interesting. A win by the Rangers pretty much guarantees my team a play spot while a loss to the Leafs opens up some scary proposition.

Too late. Montreal, and Philedelphia have done that the last two games.

May both of us watch the game with hope, and despair.

Heheh..

Rangers have unofficially clinched a play off spot. HIP HIP HOORAY! And, they've found their goal scoring ways again!

Sean Avery SKOOLED the Maple Leafs in EVERY facet of the game.

Wow, I wonder if Sean Avery's hot girlfriend will follow him to NY. I've actually been impressed by his play in the few games I've seen this season. I think Avery could be a 20 goal scorer if he could stay out of the penalty box. He also seems to have calmed down a lot this season while still being effective on the ice. I hope he can carry that in NY.

I'm quoting myself for geniusness :(

Eh? No biggie. I always liked Avery even when he was a King. I thought he was given a bad wrap.

"That's just embarrassing. To be honest I was cheering for Tucker in that fight."

Tucker did get one good punch in.. but, that's it... :(

Tucker got one good one right in Avery's face. There a few other decent ones but nothing great. :(

I just caught the highlights of that fight. The Zack Stortini/Martin Lapointe fight was much better. Of course, the game it was played in was totally meaningless.......

That was a totally PATHETIC effort by the Leafs. Jesus ****ING Christ, where's the playoff urgency?! And what the hell is up with Sundin? He ends up on the season's worst goal scoring drought just as they enter the playoff race? ARGH!!

Go Leafs go.

Sounds to me like somebody didn't want to drink Lou's Kool-Aid. I guess a 47-24-8 record isn't good enough to keep your job in Jersey.

Go Pens!!

Lou is one of the weirdest GMs ever. Mnay of his decisions make me go WTF, and say that guy is stupid, how did he get his job. However, the bottom line is, his teams win so he'll be continually left alone and considred a 'hockey genius'.

Of course, it helps when you can rely on one of the best goalies ever.

This action is just insane. Of course, the last time he pulled a move liek this, the Devils won the cup.

L0LLERZ!
