CRT or LCD Monitor

I would really need one of those desks with moving surfaces that ket you alternate between using a keyboard and a tablet real quick and easy. I have an A3 format Wacom and that sucker is too big for me to have anything else on the desk with it

I see I'm not the only one who sits up close to the screen.

"They" always say you should sit farther back, but I say, what's the point in a big monitor if you're going to sit half way across the room. ;)

Do a lot of you have small desks? The few pictures I've seen here and there have been very small. It'd drive me crazy to barely have room for anything but the hardware on the desk surface. But I have this room all to myself, so I can fill it with essentially a giant table w/out issue.

I personally sit about a foot, maybe a foot and a half away from the screen. Close enough that I can read text at 1600x1200, far enough away that no one else in the family can read what's on the screen. ;)

My desk is wide enough that I can fit four 19" CRT monitors side by side across the back with a little space left. I can't find my tape measure right now so I can't give you anything more accurate than that. It isn't that deep though. Only enough space for the monitor and the keyboard with a mouse width worth of space between them. Sounds like a lot of space, but it has a lot of stuff on it, usually about a dozen or more empty coke cans/water bottles, game controllers, blank CD's, a large lamp and more.

I'd post a picture, but I can't find the cable for the camera and it seems that I no longer have one uploaded here. :ermm:

Look where Gromnir got his photo. I looked around and found it, but he'd already posted his pic. It's got a lot of our desktop images on it.

Define "small"?

Lets just say, the room isn't big, but I don't exactly feel claustrophobic either.

I could use a larger monitor some day (currently a Samsung SyncMaster 940N), but until I upgrade the rest of my old pc, it would be a waste.
