tarna
:D Was snooping around the 'net and found this... http://majorgeeks.com/Win3D_d229.html ...'this' being a desktop theme ( 2.3 Mb ) that fairly replicates what was known as 'Virtual Reality' games in the late 80's. To play, you stood on a platform with up to three other players and wore a 'gun', viewscreen helmet and a harness that tracked your movement. As you moved, raised your gun and fired, whatever...it appeared in your helmet's screen. This desktop is fairly close to how VR worked. Thought I'd let you 'kids' take a stroll downwhat we 'oldsters' might call nostalgia lane . :D It has some nice customizables such as 'Favorites' that don't show up elsewhere in other themes. Try it out, you'll see what I mean. Ruminations... When a man has no Future, the Present passes too quickly to be assimilated and only the static Past has value. Oerwinde
I did that once, my family laughed at me because the system was a little off, so the viewscreen kept getting off center slowly making me need to stare up in order to see forward. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Kaftan Barlast
I played it at an amusement park but must have been around 1993. Walsingham
I played something like that in Covent Garden. The tracking of my view was off, and I got seasick. Ick. "It wasn't lies. Musopticon?
I've tried that too, around -92. Gave me a headache quickly. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. LadyCrimson
That site is really cool...but their download speeds from TX are abysmal. Guess they're busy... Cool 3D desktop thing. I never actually played any of those...I think there was an arcade place around here for it, but never went in. “Things are as they are. Arkan
That was....interesting. Would be cool to see it updated to conform with XP standards/features/etc. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
