I just read the following tidbit about NWN2 in Swedens largest newspaper. In the newly instated games section.

Jonas Thente's Autumn favorites:

NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2

With some reservation; it is not the now closed BioWare studios that is behind the sequel to the amtosphericly enchanting roleplaying game Neverwinter Nights, but Obsidian. It was they who did "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic", not a very positive merit in my eyes. History has shown that clumsy developers can sink even the mightiest flagship.

OMG BioWare has closed!! :( Now well never see DragonAge!

Furthermore; I can not be held accountable for anything I write on these forums since the idea of taking serious responsability for my unserious actions, is an oxymoron in itself.

Important: as the following sentence contains many naughty words I warn you not to read it under any circumstances; botty, knickers, wee, erogenous zone, psychiatrist, clitoris, stockings, bosom, poetry reading, dentist, fellatio and the department of agriculture.

In the Swedish original, in the sentence:

It was they who did "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic"

does 'they' refer to Bioware or Obsidian?

Sorry if the translation isnt that sharp. Im a wee bit tipsy :)) It's just some journalist intern who thinks hes a Gaming Guru because he got an Xbox when he turned 18.

This reminds me of when I was in first grade (1987) and the newspaper came to our school and did a special on us firstgraders. But then when I looked in the paper the following day, not only was it a bad photo and theyd spelled my name all wrong.. but the photo was obviously from the mid-1970's

Other times when Ive been in the paper, theyve not only spelled the name wrong, but it isnt my name to begin with!

-What did you say your name was again?

-Kaftan Barlast.

-Ok. *takes notes* Mr.. Willfred.. Honeyboffle.

Ah yes, the famous developers of Knights of the Old Republic and Tomb Raider. Maybe he had a bet with a mate to see how many mistakes he could get a major national newspaper to publish?

I shall always think of you as Willfred Honeyboffle. You should change your username, too.

Is this a swedish thing?

More like an incompetence thing. I'm a journalism major (in Sweden) and the first thing they teach us is make sure you get the name right. Have them spell it out for you. Twice if necessary.

Nothing shows disrespect towards a source or interviewee as much as a mispelt name.

There's incompetence everywhere, of course, but journalists in Portugal, for example are incompetent in different ways. While I've seen a lot of blunders by portuguese journalists, I've never seen a name gotten wrong (besides typos, that is).

From Vesa Pekkola to Vesa-Pekka Kola.

Yeah, incompetence is universal.
