Sentinels get more skills with Int 14 than Int 14 as a Guardian for your starting class.

Pros and cons.

Believe that Sentinels also have immunity feats. While these do not protect against force powers like Kill, Plague, Force Storm and Master Force Scream, they prevent a PC from being frozen till a state of stiffness or burnt with droid flames till locked in immobilised horror, while Stasis Field/Insanity effects are nulled except that character's movement is slightly slowed when stasis effect fails. Stun effects also become ineffective. Of course, damage from cold and fire attacks still have their effects.

Well, if one is thinking of going for superior two weapon fighting feats and further feats for attack bonuses with lightsabers, then Guardian class does help. Other choices for those can also be put into Precise Shot feats and ranged feats like Rapid Shot to master level when Vitality feats have been taken. And those feats that add to between 1-3 for saves will help slightly. Apart from slightly more Vit points with leveling up that Guardians get, depending on their Con.
