July 27, 200619 yr So a year ago I was playing on a 19" CRT with an old video card running at 800x600. I got bored and thought I'd see what it looked like with my current card and LCD monitor running at 1600x1200 (native resolution of my monitor is 1920x1200). Are the items on the HUD (attack/force/grenade icons, player pic, etc) suppoed to be really big? Also, the minimap and the icons in the lower left look like they're scaled up really badly.
July 27, 200619 yr as far as I remember the game doesn't really handle that resolution, or the above, very well (but I honestly don't know) Fortune favors the bald.
July 27, 200619 yr I guess they weren't made for such a big monitor and the icons are adjusting to the size. "For my ally is the force, and a powerful ally it is"
July 28, 200619 yr It's fine for me too. They'll stay pretty big relative to the rest of the screen, however - they don't get miniscule w/more resolution. Still, if they're really huge, that would seem unusual to me. Maybe attach a screenshot? Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
July 28, 200619 yr Works ok at 1600x1200 for me too. It depends on your video card. The stronger it is the higher resolution you can get... but you need a very powerful CPU
July 28, 200619 yr I run on 1024x768 and I have noticed when you switch from 800x600 to 1024x768 the icons to become a bit smaller and I'm running on a 17" monitor.
July 28, 200619 yr I think the standard resolution for the game would be around 1280x1024... If u go higher u need a fast CPU
July 28, 200619 yr *Fundamental I dont see how the CPU would make any diff when that just determines the speed/brain of the computer.
July 28, 200619 yr 1024 by 768 for resolution size seems ok so far for K2. Deep from within... Victims live a life of fantasy. Some see salvation as an act of God, a few look within for it. 朱宣澧
July 28, 200619 yr My understanding is that while the video card is typically the major thing, if one's CPU is too 'old' then well, it can't take advantage of the advanced card so much (bottleneck). So CPU can be a factor. But if you have a fairly 'modern/speedy' PC and an older card, the card is then the bottleneck. Depends a bit I guess. Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
July 28, 200619 yr Also depends on the game... While most of the time Kotor2 relies most on the GPU smoke and Dantooine seem to rely mostly on CPU; and ask more than the modern PC can provide ^ I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. July 29, 200619 yr Author For me, it's not a matter of the graphics being glitchy. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not used to the interface scaling up with the resolution since I just got finished playing Kotor I.
