Icewind Dale OST

Recommended Posts

I lost my OST CD so I decided to use the TeamBG tool that extracts the audio files into .wavs. The problem is, the songs are broken up to about fifty (literally) files. Some songs have mutiple starts and ends for randomness in the game.

I quick found a program that I had that enabled mass selection and import. It doesn't always have them in alpha-numeric order either. So I get to play with it. Then I get to save it to 320kbps Vorbis. All in all this takes about 15-20 minutes per track.

At this point in time I wish three things:

1) I didn't lose my OST disc.

2) The Interplay site w/ the tracks to download was still up.

3) It was legally aquirable by other simple means via P2P. (I checked, it's impossible to find anyway)

This is really starting to piss me off.

I hear ya. I had to do the same with the OST from SFC2. The tracks were split into no less than 5 pieces, and no more than 20. It took me about 2 minutes per track to put them back together manually... and they were like 30 or so. On the upside, the pieces were usually arranged in the correct order by default.

I also wasted more time googling for a program that would do it automatically, than what it took me to do the job manually with some other program in the end. And when I found an app to do it, the results were less than acceptable, with annoying clicking sounds where the pieces were put together. >_<

Wish I could be more help... :luck:

After re-reading the original post...

If you owned the thing, but just can't find it, I don't think it would be illegal to obtain them via p2p. I *am* sure you could find it on the ed2k network. Not that I have actually tried or anything, God forbid.

Rather than walk a slippery slope, let me look into this and see if I can get something that might offer a less than wayward resolution.
