I was curious as to if anyone knew of a good video editing program for special effects in relation to the Star Wars films.

Umm.. you're a bit vague. What are you trying to do, rotoscope lightsabers into a home made video?

Or pirate the Lucas films for some private ... err ... goal?

More or less for a home made SW universe based film, just for fun and personal entertainment value. Sabers are my prime focus...they are the one thing holding me back.

But also to expand upon that into blaster firing and other assorated SW effects.

Essentially I am looking for a great program for digital film editing to add to my current "movie making" programs. I can't get more specific than that.

Just throw out any program names people may use, like, have tried, etc.

If you're going for lightsaber effects and such you're going to need a compositing program not a video editing program.

After Effects or Combustion are two of the big players in that category. I think Nuke is a big one too.

I've used Combustion and After Effects, and of the two I prefer Combustion.

Viscy's making a fan film under an alt account! Run!

Also Oerwinde, what's up with the new transformers, I liked Megatron better. ;)

I wanted to switch to Shockwave, but couldn't find a good avatar. Then I found Dancing Banana Bumblebee so went with that.

EDIT: Found one.

I vote you edit your high-school graduation to include a savage blasterbrawl.

Thanks, I will look for them next time I go out.
