March 18, 200619 yr http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3148835 But Skip's on a mission - he's just completed the cover story for the next issue of CGW: a look at Ubisoft's upcoming FPAG (that's "First Person Action Game"), Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The game sounds sort of like Oblivion, but maybe with smarter, more fun combat. Don't judge it too harshly from the footage--it looks like it's running pretty choppily. Still, Skip saw the game in its native land (France) and was impressed. We await a demo we can get our hands on!
March 18, 200619 yr FPAG (that's "First Person Action Game") <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you smell the despair of gaming publications trying to come up with new genre or genre definitions to try and stay afloat and remain relevant?
March 18, 200619 yr Where did the "fantasy fps" go? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
March 18, 200619 yr And then we'd all embarassingly giggle when someone used the acronym three times in a row. It would be better than Dorothy's mantra.

March 18, 200619 yr The game sounds sort of like Oblivion, but maybe with smarter, more fun combat. I'm confused. Why does he say this if the only thing the games have in common is uhh... nothing at all?

March 18, 200619 yr Thread pruned for preservation. Strike ONE. (Don't be PERSONALLY responsible for the next strike ... <_< ) OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
March 27, 200619 yr A little act of necromancing here, but that gameplay video was quite impressive. Wonder why FPS fans aren't jumping on this...
March 27, 200619 yr This one will be hard to judge until we get it in our hands. First-person melee is one tough duck. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
March 28, 200619 yr This one will be hard to judge until we get it in our hands. First-person melee is one tough duck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always liked first person melee, so i'm perfectly fine with it... Edited March 28, 200619 yr by Lyric Suite
March 28, 200619 yr Really the only game to do first person melee well was Thief. And it was horribly hard. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. March 28, 200619 yr I thought Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (help my fingers are bleeding from typing out the title) had awesome melee combat. Best I've seen in any game. It almost hurt in real life when you got hit over the nose in that game. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
March 28, 200619 yr I heard about that, but I never got he chance to try it out. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Damn fine game, it manages to blend FPS, Adventure, close combat and sneaking almost flawlessly.
March 28, 200619 yr I didn't know Riddick had first person melee, i though it was handled in third person. I need to try this game, even though i loath the idea of playing as Vin Deisel...
March 29, 200619 yr Dark Messiah looks like a ass kicking game. I just read about it in Computer Gaming World. Through inner peace leads to enlightenment. Baldur's Gate Modding
