Call of Cthulhu -- Dark Corners of the Earth is a first-person horror game that combines intense action and adventure elements. Ive played this game and while there are some problems with the gameplay, the atmosphere and sanity system are great. You really get the feeling of Lovecraft. It stays pretty true to the Cthulhu mythos, taking place in Innsmouth and the occasional segment in Arkham. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had

I couldn't believe when the time came and it was actually released. Sinced then I've heard a lot of less than enthusiastic things about it. I'll probably pick it up in the bargain bin some day. And I'm a hardcore Lovecraft devotee as well. So I advise caution and read some reviews before you buy. If you know what you are getting into, thewn you will probably be ok with it, if you don't, you'll probably be pissed off and angry. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

This caused quite a few problems with the finished game. There was no word orignially that a pc version would even be released. I guess its nice that it has now been confirmed, but its toobad it never wil be what it could have been. ANyway, as I suggewsted before, I recommend you read reviews and talk to people who own it. The game has a lot of problematic issues. It also has good things too. The question you have to answer is do the problematic things bother you or not. A lot of time was spent turning it from a pc title to an xbox title. I don't think they want to spend any money developing or supporting it as a pc title. I don't think they want to spend any more money on it all. Frankly, its a bleeding miracle the game ever made it to the shelves. I am going to wait for a review of the pc release, assume that is the finished product, and decide at that point how much I am willing to spend. I'm sure I'll get it eventually. The only reason why we will be able to find a PC version in stores real soon is because TheHoodedClaw, who was Lead Engineer on the project, stayed behind and made the finishing touches all on his own. For free. Why? Because he cares about DCotE a lot (those reading the official forum will have noticed this) and didn't want to disappoint those who have been waiting for so long for the PC version. However, do not expect any graphical tweaks or extras on your PC. This will be a straight port from the Xbox."
