have you even considerd that they simply just named him that for no reason what so ever? hes gotta have a name that doesnt mean they need to put some hiden meaning to it

hk is the generic model number. the number is the designation and the more specific model number. for example, R2 units are all based off the same design, and the second number is just to give it individuality. while for the HK line I'd guess that the hk 47 was the 47th model based off the origional HK model type. as they made improvements they updated the designation to those newer units.
