LoneWolf16 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Is Bloodlines buggier than Arcanum? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neither game is buggy once you've installed all the available patches. The problem with Bloodlines is that many (though not all) players experience very low framerates, stuttering sound and other issues on systems that can handle visually similar games without a problem. And the 'minimum system requirements', more than in most games, is verging on the dishonest. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never got any bugs in Arcanum...but Bloodlines, even with the official patch...is a buggy mess for me. Playable, but a mess. I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
Gabrielle Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Now I'm experiancing random crashes that did not occur on the other four games that I played before this one. It crashed fives times in different parts of the game.
Haitoku Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Damn it make up your minds everyone. Are the fan made patches good or not? I keep hearing that they fix problems others say it creates more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After playing through with and without patches... I say, unofficial patches are bad. Not only are there some game stopping bugs towards the end with the latest, but some of the "rebalance" and tweaking they did it just plain stupid.
Gabrielle Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Guess I'll just stick with the official patch then. Now if I can play it without it crashing on me now.
Slowtrain Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I updated my video driver for my ATI 9800 Pro then went to replay Bloodlines again and it was running something awful, stuttering all over the place, dropping frames, gah. So I rolled back to the previous drivrer and it was fine again. Obviously this progamming thing is an art not a science. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
Atreides Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 ^Could be the problem I had. I was using the latest (well about 2 months old) drivers for ATI. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Gabrielle Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Ewww and I was thinking of updating my video drivers.
CoM_Solaufein Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Is there any way to fix the memory leak? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It'd be nice if a few Troika employees would just...I don't know, take some time out of their busy schedules, in the spirit of the season of course, to make a few amendments to their code...and distribute said modifications through some third party websites... Walk to the door 2. Turn 90 Deg to your right 3. walk against the "bar/Handle" to remove the latch 4. Open the door 5. Go forth and kill every SOB in the temple. "If at first you don't succeed... Surreptishus Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 if you still cant get through, noclip it
Haitoku Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 if you still cant get through, noclip it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's cheating. ... Lol, I had to noclip myself out of a few walls and boxes though.
Surreptishus Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Noclipping is ok in a game that is buggy as Bloodlines and with levels as tedious as the warrens
Haitoku Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Noclipping is ok in a game that is buggy as Bloodlines and with levels as tedious as the warrens <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True enough.
Child of Flame Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I liked the warrens. I was only disappointed my new haven was Downtown in the sewers rather than in the warrens with Gary and the others.
Surreptishus Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I dont mean the Nosferatu elysium, i mean the bit leading up to it.
WITHTEETH Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Yay it worked! Im at the flying bat part now. Always outnumbered, never out gunned! Unreal Tournament 2004 Handle:Enlight_2.0 Myspace Website! My rig
Gabrielle Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I'm browsing around the Sounds folder listening to all the types of music in the game. Love games that use MP3 or some other popular format to listen to the games sounds without playing the game.
Child of Flame Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I dont mean the Nosferatu elysium, i mean the bit leading up to it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I found that part was fun depending on what clan I was playing. As a Brujah, Nossie, or Gangrel it got tedious, though brawling my way through those monsters was satisfying. Playing Toreador and Ventrue gunslingers, it was downright terrifying. I had to make sure and keep enough blood in me that I could keep Celerity going, because if those beasties got ahold of me I'd be down to a sliver of health within a few exhanges. Thankfully I put a little bit more into my Ventrue's defense stats (those were sacrificed in the Toreador build for the extra levels in Celerity). Playing as a Malk, or Tremere it was kinda 'meh'.
WITHTEETH Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I just sneak behind EVERYBODY and choke, samurai sword or use the bottom to kill them swiftly. My sneak was high early on so i haven't had any difficulty, i can go right up to people and bump them, they just look around cautious and the meter goes to 96 typically. I chose Toreador.
