Film producers approach sequels "Dang! This film made some serious $$$, lets squeeze another one out quick and ride the hype!"

I think the argument with movies is valid in most cases.

But sometimes it happens that sequel is better than original.

Then we get trilogies and N-logies though. >_<

While game developers go "lets take everything we learned while making the first game and make the sequel an even better one!"

Not always the case. Sometimes the argument follows the pattern from movie industry (Unreal and Unreal 2 >_< ).

On the second thought... Matrix 1/2/3 >_<

Marketing also plays its role.

I saw the first one... I'd say it was just "ok"...

I couldn't see a reason to watch the other two... maybe RPGs have made the whole "you are teh chosen one" concept a bit too painful for me. ;)

One was action and the other horror :-

Of course one did have Lance Henrikson in it.

I was always a fan of Michael Biehn. I liked him in Terminator, The Rock, and Aliens. Plays those roles perfectly and are some of my favourite characters (well, The Rock his role is a little short).
