I know you probably just being sarcastic there, but i think its quite annoying how its mandatory that every SW game has to have at least one lightsaber in it

 

I guess its just a trademark of the SW franchise...

I honestly don't think the technology has improved THAT much, I think it's gone backwards more than forward (compare the weaponry of the trilogy to that of the prequels). However, a lot of it stays the same (compare the Sith raid on Telos. Did anyone notice how much difference the Sith fighters had to TIEs? Not very many. And of course, we all know how the Ravager looks like an ISD...)

Dark Forces, Xwing, tiefighter, Xwing vs Tiefighter, Xwing alliance, and Battlefront didn't let you use one.

Speaking of Dark Forces -- true that it didn't let you use the lightsaber, but could one be seen anywhere in the game? I recall Darth Earl Jones talking to General Mohc, but I don't remember if these were "negotiations with a lightsaber" or not.
