The only band who starts their songs with a epic classical theme and end up playing trash metal. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Darth Drabek Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Transplants - DJ, DJ On paper, this looks horrible... Tim Armstrong, the unintelligible voice and rhythm guitarist of Rancid, Travis Barker, the pretty boy drummer and reality TV star of Blink 182 and "Skinhead Rob," a former Rancid roadie, decide to form a band. It's not what you'd expect, or maybe it is - there's definitely some punk here, but Armstrong discovered ProTools and loops and dubs much more than he did even on "Life Won't Wait." Also, Skinhead Rob writes his rhymes about his hard life on the street - some of his parts are ridiculously bad, but the songs are mostly catchy as hell. Between the electronic blips and abrasive shout-rapping, you might be better off with Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards if you want an old-school punk record from a Rancid alum. But the first Transplants record (avoid the second one at your peril) is a real kick in the teeth to the cookie-cutter mall-punk scene. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
