dufflover
Version 1.0.1 is ready to download. Here's the Pure Pazaak page URL again: http://www.k0m3k.htmlz.net/pazaak/ v1.0.1====== - AI now knows how to use the Special K2 cards - Re-added deck card dragging (doesn't work if you drag by the # label) - Slightly increased the game speed - Fixed incorrect cards with Sol'aa - Removed a VB Control dependency (NOT the comctl32.ocx one) - Remade the Campaign screen, added new opponent(s), existing ones unchanged. - Dimmed cards are now manually dimmed rather than dimmed pictures - Portraits now loaded only when needed (loading delay has been "moved") - You now start with 1/4 of your highscore in Arcade (or 100 credits) - Main menu now also reports your highscore - Made sure the program wouldn't crash with too many credits (max is 2,000,000,000) - AI is more compromising but may cause some unexpected "stupid" behaviour loop-hole. Just as a little warning; it's 2:00am for me now so there's a chance something stupid has skipped past me and into the program - although it played fine for me. So anyway, howz the netplay side of it going? DAWUSS
Can we insert our own picture? I wanna see how well TK-151 plays pazaak. And I'm pretty certain Darth Vader could win a few games DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright. stangdriver05
Awesome app! I spend hours playing Pazaak in KotOR on my Xbox. Now I can do the same on my computer. The only problems I
DAWUSS
One of these days there'll prolly be a Star Wars: Cantina Casino game where all you do is walk into some cantina and play card games with other patrons and win lotsa cash DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright. dufflover
So much for trying to make the AI better I don't really know how it works, do i have to ask someone to join or, wait for someone to join coze, last time i've waited a couple of min. & no one was on-line. It's a direct connection type thingo. I'm not a network person so I don't know the exact details but here are the steps I use: 1. Find a player and get them in MSN, AOL or whatever 2. The Host-er tells the Join-er their IP and decide on a port to use (same for both players). Remember to check your port forward and firewall settings. 3. Host person starts "listening" first. 4. Joining person clicks join. One thing that would be nice is being able to add your own custom picture for your player. Belhawk
I can't get beyond choose the side deck, any suggestions? the cards are there with a pre-selected group that u can use, but I don't see any accept button or continue button or start game button. dufflover
Look for a button labelled "Continue" (look at the website screenshots as a guide). The rule to simplify the program is that you can't trade or start a game without a fully allocated deck first, but even then the buttons are just greyed out, not invisible. If you still have trouble post a screenie. Belhawk
I got it working, it was my appearance settings that were causing the problem. I lowered my resolution to 1024x768, and went with smaller font sizes in the appearance settings and the continue button appeared. nice game

stangdriver05
AI is great! I'd even say it is better than the KotOR pazaak AI. But, Gluupor is still using -5 cards when he has 15 and then standing... Maybe gluupor thinks it is a +/- 5 card... Other than that awesome (Maybe consider adding an option for easy/medium/hard)
stangdriver05
LOL, Gluupor works fine now. I must say, most fun minigame thing I've ever had for the computer. Good job! Would you like to have a beta tester? I've better tested mods and games before and I know some about AI (from my work on robots).
stangdriver05
That's what the "next" opponent is supposed to be - to put it another way, the AI is the best/smartest one I can think of; no deliberate dumbing down. If it's too easy then I guess my logic needs some work, or I need to make it cheat " . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I meant it was to hard. Maybe I'm the dumb one. Don;t make it cheat, please don't. BattleCookiee
It already cheats. The amount of times I get a 10 when I stand on 12 is unbelievable EDIT: Mmm, odd, if I start it it says that there is a error in MSwinsck.oxc, even if it is inside the map, and if I retry it starts without the error... Even more WTF: I just start 101 with 1.2 update and find "that I have defeated all enemies in the campaign"??? And to add more WTF: The Arcade starts with 0 credits, instead of the promised 100... dufflover
aaahhh crap..."can I say crap on TV..." Here we go again! OK, 3rd time lucky. The website now has v1.0.2 as a single full package. For those who have seen the latter opponents I hope you don't spoil (yeh, the measley amount) the later opponents. dufflover
Maybe this should be stickied? Sorry, but we already reached the max. number of stickies... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most KotOR players hate pazaak so it wouldn't do much good anyway. It already cheats. The amount of times I get a 10 when I stand on 12 is unbelievable. Even more reason why people hate Pazaak...it doesn't cheat, but it doesn't make them less tired of losing or more motivation to play Pure Pazaak (unless they enjoy accusing other Humans of cheating). EDIT: Mmm, odd, if I start it it says that there is a error in MSwinsck.oxc, even if it is inside the map, and if I retry it starts without the error... I've had that once - only once. I suggest seeing what happens if you move the OCX file out (incase it interferes/overrides a more compatable Windows copy). If the game doesn't run because you don't have it, try downloading a new version of the file and see what happens - simple Google search gets some results. Mind you I'm not going to cos the bug is so rare for me. BattleCookiee
K, how I did it... Download the zip you can find on page 3 Then right-click on it and select (sort-like, no english version, so no idea how it is exactly called) Unpack... You'll get a Unpack Wizard (XP), on the second screen place it where-ever you want. Then go to the place you planted the files. Double click the exe file, and play
