Mjolnir Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Is it possible to play european pc games on an american or canadian pc?
SteveThaiBinh Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Yes, it is. Check that you have the right language version, though. There's nothing like DVD region coding for PC games, but there are restrictions on where retailers like Amazon will mail games. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)

SteveThaiBinh Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Are there? I've never encountered a problem! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know if they apply between the US and Europe - you'd have to go onto the Amazon website to check that. I couldn't order games or DVDs from Amazon.co.uk when I lived in Latvia or Viet Nam, and they said legal restrictions were the reason. Unless this has changed, of course... But there's no problem actually getting the games to work. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Mjolnir Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 If i ordered a game would it work or would i need to convert my pc.
Darth Flatus Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 no conversion required, of any sort, providing your pc is up to spec.
SteveThaiBinh Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 If i ordered a game would it work or would i need to convert my pc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you ordered a game from a European retailer, it would work fine on a North American PC. As I said, just check that you are ordering the right language version. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Diogo Ribeiro Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Are there? I've never encountered a problem! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some time ago I tried purchasing a copy of Planescape: Torment - the single package, not the dual garbage - from Amazon.com. They wouldn't mail it here. And Torment isn't the only one game they wouldn't mail, either.
Mr. Brightside Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 The only problem is when you want to play a european console game. Europeans use the PAL code.
