What if it's not what you were hoping for?

 

I considered enlisting in my military, but I didn't like the idea of having to be in it for 9 years (I was considering an Officer in the Canadian Army.  4 years of schooling to get my degree, and 5 years service.

 

Even the 2 year requirement for NCM was a bit too much for me.

 

Well, I certainly can't see myself doing anything else. Honestly, no other job even sparks my interest, not even a bit. So I guess I will just see if I like it or not, which I'm sure I will.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

If you see your life only in the military, why not go to a military academy and become an officer - an obvious choice for anyone that plans a military carrer - and you'll still see action, or are you too eager that you haven't got the patience to spend several more yaers at the academy?

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe. 

I admit that I am too anxious to put in that much time. I have been waiting 17 years for this moment, and I'm not up to waiting several more.

 

But when you're inlisted in a divison, won't you have to under go a boot camp that also lasts for quite some time?

Well, I'm Infantry, so I go to OSUT (One Station Unit Training), which includes BCT (another name for boot camp), and then AIT (Advanced Individual Training), where you concentrate on learning your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). In my case, it is 11X, or Infantry. Then I get assigned to a unit, where I will continually train.
