Nur Ab Sal
Net cafes are always full of people playing Counter-Strike, WoW etc all day long. There's no better proof to show that this law has either been already completely abolished or is too stupid to be taken seriously and enforced. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All hail for Greek People! Inventors of western philosophy and defenders of gaming! HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
Guest GroinOfDespair
Plato's Republic was a farce, or so my ex-grlfriend told me. She said Plato called his book the Republic, but it was more of a dictatorship that partialy appeased the unwashed masses. If the Greeks were the fathers of democracy, would they outlaw entertainment?

EnderAndrew
Nice. I usually psuedo-mock nihilists with the phra se "Nihilism makes me smile." I don't undertand any philosophy predicated on not-existing. That's why I also can't accept Buddhism. Either way, it's nice to hear it confirmed from a Greek the law has been overturned. I'm curious, how long did the law last?
Guest GroinOfDespair
Only a nihlist would truly get the cartoon. That's the funny thing.

metadigital
That is possibly the dumbest law ever, excepting these 25 (in no particular order):... 20. Kansas - Rabbits may not be shot from motorboats. ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. How do you shoot a goldfish out of a motorboat? 2. Is it permissable to rig up some other motorised transport vehicle to launch the fish, instead? It gets you thinking about who it was the lawmaker had in mind when they wrote the law ... Archmonarch
Rabbits, not Goldfish. Silly Meta. And I originally had the same interpretation as you: that somehow rabbits were being launched from a motorboat. However, I later reconsidered and decided it meant you cant hunt rabbits from a motorboat, which while strange is less idiotic. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
