BicycleOfDeath
So, I'm trying to put together my demo riding video and I'm ready to burn the file to cd. Every bit of software I use does not detect my DVD-RW drive. I put blank media in the drive then it just displays the drive as "CD Drive". Though, it will read DVDs and CDs normally, both gaming, video, data, etc... This happened after I updated Nero 6.3 to 6.6.0.3., then it not working so I uninstalled. Nero says it had nothing to do with their software. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, reinstalling Nero, disabling, and enabling the drive, etc. Stand Your Convictions and You Will Walk Alone. Darth Flatus
Have you tried burning it anyway? I dont think my drives were ever labelled correctly by windows but they still work as they should do you have the latest firmware for the drive? metadigital
Use with DLA (Drive Letter Access), this is a new(ish) format and sometimes isn't set by default, preventing the write ... Also check the properties on your CD/DVD drive itself (I'm using Win XP): OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
mkreku
Or, if you live in Europe, you could buy a Plextor DVD-burner and send a RMA to them. My Plextor started acting weird a few weeks back, so I told their support about it. They told me to send in the serial number of the drive, the receit and my name and adress. Four days later a brand new DVD-burner was delivered to my door, courtesy of Plextor! Also, the warranty lasts for 24 months! Best warranty I've ever seen. I still have the suspect DVD-burner in one of my drawers.. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Kaftan Barlast
Yup, that delivery thing is very nice Otherwise, Id try mayonaise. Not that cheap stuff, Im talking real gourmet sh*t here. Just fill your burner all full of it and let it sit overnight. Then you take a bicycle pump.. Either the drive is a read-only drive, or a setting is out somewhere. (I doubt it's a hardware fault because you can still read from the drive.)
