mkreku Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 b.Not all my posts are meaningless <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just a quick reality check (don't want a flame war): point me in the direction of where you posted a meaningful (not off topic post that actually added something to the discussion) in, for example, this thread. Remember, this is a thread that was originally started as a place for us to discuss politics. Just quote a post of yours you think was meaningful in the political discussion. Baley Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 No.I don't think this thread was ever meant to be a place for meaningful political discussion. " And I did not start the spaming "

Darth Flatus Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Withteeth we won't really know until sometime in the early morning (UK time) I expect Labour will win (blair). I am not traditionally a labour supporter but i dont mind them having another term so long as they stay "New" Labour. And of the three main parties I am not convinced any of the alternatives to Labour would be a significant improvement. I expect and hope that Labour's massive majority is eroded and that Conservative becomes a viable opposition party. I also hope the BNP win no seats.
Baley Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 blah...blah... blah <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do not spam Period And let's get back on-topic if there ever was an on-topicness in this thread I alos hope the BNP win no seats. With that I agree ...tho from what I read people might vote for them As for the elections I would probably be a Lib Dem suporter(from what I've heard and read about them) What is "new" labour might I ask ?
Darth Flatus Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Labour was traditionally more of a socialist lefty party - pro union, state owned evrything. However in the mid 90's under the leadership of tony blair they underwent an image change and a general shift to the right (much to the chagrin of core supporters and members.) They called themselves New Labour to signify the change. Although their official name is still Labour.

Baley Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I'd go with Lib Dems ...they seem closer to the left Fine I have no clue...As I said I have left views ...and they seem to be left-winged I'm not an extremist tho...so no comunist vote here

I am a liberal for social issues and see it a bit differently since i know he is too, but are there any other candidates that are for a social brittain or liberal? Darth Launch Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Well, there's no point going into huge detail, but I like that they want to abolish student fees DL P.S. Plus, Charles Kennedy is a fan of my favourite magazine (Empire), so he's cool OO-TINI!
