Yep. I'd caution about Steam, though. Steam is used to unlock all the files before you can play the game for the first time: so it is a mandatory pre-requisite that you have an internet connection on your games machine. And the installation process takes a couple of hours (even if you buy it on DVD).

 

Apart from that, it's cool.

Yep, I tend to agree. I just thought I'd mention it because it did take a lot of people by surprise: a lot of people have their games machine isolated from the internet. And it is mindly annoying that it takes about an hour to decrypt every single file after installation. Once it is installed and decrypted you can run it in offline mode, though.

I don't. If it actually reduced the price of the final product, it would be ok. But it doesn't. The devs are just cutting the publisher and the rest of middle men from the loop, only to get a larger piece of the cake for themselves. Nothing wrong with that, of course, after all it's a capitalist system we're working with. But if it causes me any sort of annoyance that the standard form of retail, for the same price, as a good capitalist customer I'm just not going to support it.

One reason might be they don't enjoy and therefore don't play the damned games. If I could just get my wife to play computer games with me, my life would be complete.

As brains function according to the endocrine soup created by the millions of chemicals secreted in the brain tissues (the brain is basically hollow) and by the glandular system, it is quite feasible that we think with our whole body. (Certainly the spine is an extension of brain, where reflexes from, say, the knee tap -- made famous in all those bugs bunny cartoons -- is controlled, for increased speed presumably, from the base of the spine and not the depths of the skull.)

 

This still leaves the average woman with a lower body mass, so they are still arguably less intelligent by that -- obviously false -- measure. And this totally ignores the metaphorical metaphysical aspects of the mind ...
