Rosbjerg, there's really nothing wrong with danish in paper, sort of an archaic form of swedish. It's the spoken stuff I'm abhoring. Bleah. Like talking swedish with a hot potato in your mouth. And I understood what you wrote, so n

hey it's better than that hack-fest called Suomi! sounds more like a guy choking that talking .. I mean "Ugric" that just tells you a bit about the culture there! :)"

And Mkreku if you had asked; "why do all danes, from west jutland, talk as if they have their mouths full of porridge" we could begin to agree ..

besides swedish has it's share of obscure dialects too!!

and what about Dutch now that we are talking about difficult .. huh Ludozee?? hehe

Finnish, Danish and Swedish are horrible when you see it written down. Finnish has way to many vowels and Danish and Swedish use way to many strange symbols...

Dutch on the other hand is a simple, no-nonsense language, just like English :)

Nederlands ziet er tenminste normaal uit, zonder al die aparte tekens, maar helaas begrijpen jullie hier toch niks van, dus gaat het helemaal nergens om. :D

You see what I mean?

EDIT: lol Rosbjerg, I was already posting this before i read your post :p

Sure, it looks more normal, and you don't have strange symbols .. and I can understand just fine thank you!

but it's just one big mix of French, English some German and a dash of Danish!

and I saw you posting, so I edited my own ..

Dutch to me: "Nederlaands normaaal, apaaaaarte, helemaaaaaaaal nergens om."

You couldn't add another "a" even if you tried!

Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

You are right about the Danish thing. Sometimes when I see it written I get quite a good idea of what it says, just because some of the words are similar in Dutch or are derived form words in other languages I know.

This topic has made me do the good old "push F5 repeatedly until someone makes a post"-action. Which is a good sign in a forum. I think I'll stay.

On the topic of strange languages: Welsh.

They actually have a town there called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-Llantysiliogogogoch!!!

:p

Yeah, talk about an interesting place to live in. In English means "Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave." The locals call it Llanfairpwll (pronounced thlan vire puth).

yeah you guys showed that in "the winter war" ..

Only in the "winter war"? Do you forget 1941-1944? :-

there was more hack'n'slash over the winter war! kudos to Finland for that ..

fighting, not only outnumbered, but also outgunned and against better equipment .. sure they got alot from Sweden (and Germany I think?) and others, but still ..

maybe they just used megafones and yelled at the Russians .. I couldn't imagine anything more frightning than 10000+ ultra-loud finnish men ..

History teacher once told us this really fun thing. Vikings took with them finnish men and before attacking they made finnish men drunk and let them yell and stuff as much as they wanted. This was done during night time so I can think about those poor soon to be ravaged by vikings. "What is that god awful sound? Sounds like there

Hahhaah  A rather unknown fact about vikings: They were afraid of Finns. Vikings didn't make alot of raids to early FInland, because Finns were known to be whitches and foul ones at that. We lived in black forests full of spirits and sung odd songs bearing animal bones. No warrior wanted to anger a whitch, hoping he wouldn't curse him.

This of course changed a bit when christianity took part.
