Epiphany
is lucasarts incapable of making a good game now? battlefront was crap, kotor2 was rushed, and now it seems republic commando is crap. mercenaries looks decent, but with the lucasarts tag on it, im a little worried and will wait for more reviews before attempting that one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mercenaries is fun, but gets boring real quick. It's a rental at best. The fact that you truely can blow stuff up over and over is the most appealing aspect of the game. Nothing like calling in a carpet bomb air strike and watching an entire street go up in explosions. But, once you've seen it a few times, its lost the effect. Republic Commando on the other hand is really cool. The visor, the squad based combat (much like Rainbow 6 - minus the super micro-managing), and the sound are all incredibly implemented. If you have a big TV and 5.1, crank up the sound, and go at it. It's a blast. Will the final game get stale? Who knows, but the demo is fun as hell. I haven't read the novel, but according to TFN it's supposed to be the "official" novel version of the game. As for the game itself: I think it's gonna be one of those titles that will probably do better on PC than Xbox. They based on on the UT2004 engine, after all. I've tried the demo on Xbox and it was ok. It did feel sorta like Halo with the SW license added, but maybe it'll have a better, more fresh feel on PC. No point of using squad-based tactics when the enemy is dull. Thought-Fully
I voted yes. I found nothing wrong with KOTOR 2 except for the few times I froze. And even though I froze, it was probaly because I played it 20 hours straight. I liked the influence system except for the fact that there was no way to measure how much influence you got. The quests were fairly challenging too. One thing I did NOT like was the planets. I didn't find too many of them that fun, and it felt like hard work instead of playing a game. the gamespot write up said it was "similar" to grand theft auto, in its open world and being able to drive/kill/do anything. is this comment accurate? if it is, it might actually be fun since im a fan of the gta series (although havent played the latest one yet). I feel it's like grand theft auto, but it doesn't feel as free. When driving you are normally just driving between two cliffs and if you go off a jump it feels like gravity is pushing you down. If your into war games where you call out your commands I guess you'd like it.

~NightWolf~
I think Kotor 2's storyline and character interaction could use some improvement, I mean the ending was not very fulfilling to me as it provided no closure. Perhaps another month or two in development might have helped but I realize there was a deadline to keep, so never mind that part. As far as bugs go, I guess I was one of the few lucky people who haven't experienced very many. I had one incident where the screen went black on me and froze up; I had to restart the game from scratch... <_< Other than that I didn't find any bugs in the game, and I found it enjoyable enough to play more than once, so I would definitely buy Kotor 3. Me sawry 4 making u haf 2 reed mi stuf. /sarcasm Yeah, I mean, when I make my daily visits to jupiter, I love the connection between the deadly crushing gravitational pull of that giant gas ball, to the subtle pull experienced in Mercenaries. I'm just waiting for my next jump to cause me to become one with the ground due to the insane force in which the gravity is slamming me back to earth. I much prefer the floating/flying style present here on earth, as shown in GTA, where your cars go airborn at even moderate speeds. /end sarcasm Other than that I didn't find any bugs in the game, and I found it enjoyable enough to play more than once, so I would definitely buy Kotor 3. I don't even get that part... If your making fun of my grammar I should point out that I'm not even American, and your discriminating against people who make grammatical mistakes. Let's say this car is going 50 miles an hour: _-Car / -------------------/ The car would go off the jump and have a bit of hangtime and then start to go down. In Mercenaries the car has hardly any hangtime at all and instead just falls down. I will not waste anymore time trying to explain something to someone who is clearly retarted. /sarcasm We all clearly know I typed "I went to Jupiter" in my post.... and we all know how the "genuis" Epiphany spotted it out and of course has proof that I wasn't exaggerating. /end sarcasm BTW, which force powers don't work? For the second time, you've claimed I was retarded, so my choice to give you the self satisfaction of being right about it was a good one. If you'd like, I can post in more gibberish, if ever you feel your self-esteem running low. BTW: That's not a very good diagram... BTW, which force powers don't work? Does that power retivilize (sp?) not work? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Master speed doesn't give the defensive bonus, as well as the other defensive bonus force power (from what I've read, never used that one). I think there is another one, but I'm not 100% positive. The mauarader/weapon master don't give proper damage reductions.
