Miep Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 I was wondering, does anyone know if Kotor 2 wil have voice when your answering, instead of writen lines ? It makes a game so much more alive when you hear your char answering to questions.
nyugisszorny Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 I read in one of the interviews that you won't.
Darth Sirius Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 It would add considerably to the development time, is it worth it? Id have to say no. It would be alot cooler though, but it isnt a serious gripe in my book
Exar Dulo Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 But, lets think - it wont be bad. But it`ll work if your character is strongly defined.
KOTORFanactic Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 Though a main charater voice would be good (for the dialogue), it definately would add considerably to development (as Darth Sirius said) and many want KOTOR2 as soon as possible (ala me and Darth Sirius to mention 2).
Kaftan Barlast Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 Youd need atleast two new actors reading in hundreds of lines, so there is no way theyre going to do that. and there is a huge pitfall in this too- what if people dont like the PCs voice? that could ruin everything. Cornwell Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 I don't think it would be possible cause it would be lame if every male pc had the same voice and every female pc had the same voice. That's what you get in JA and I thought it sucked
OrganisedChaos Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 When KOTOR was in development I was sure I read somewhere that there would be several voice packs to choose from. Obviously that was wrong. Of course this would be WAY too much effort, you would need 10 actors to record the lines. It's best left with no voice, that way noone will comlain that it doesn't sound like themselves.
BuckeyeRowe Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 I read in one of the interviews that you won't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, you don't have a voice. "Working for Davik was like driving a spike in the side of your head. Sure, you got something new up there, but in the end, you've lost something as well." - Canderous "But I though Jedi weren't allowed to love." - Handmaiden "But some do it anyway. We call it pulling a Bindo." - The Exile
Master_Splinter Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 It's best left with no voice, that way noone will comlain that it doesn't sound like themselves. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well said
