EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 This isn't a true RPG unless I can eschew all combat and become a fisherman.
Victus Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Hehe. Total freedom in an RPG isn't necessary. I treat certain RPG's like a book. I'll go with the story and see what I can do with it using my imagination. Hades_One expects nothing so he can create something out of it. Go play Morrowind you crazy bastard.
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 I'm playing this great RPG on my Etch-A-Sketch right now.
Judge Hades Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 I just want to have the ability to play a Star Wars CRPG based on the Star Wars PnP game which allows more than playing a Jedi and more than just playing human.
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Well, that's what the PnP game is for. In fact, your group gets to decide exact execution of the rules, what character you want, what tone you want, what setting you want, whether to kill people like Carth, whether or not to include Romance, etc.
Dereth Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Basically, if you want to play an CRPG like PnP game you would need a team of developers just sitting there, waiting to redo the game so you can do whatever you want. *You see the house of the evil wizard you've been looking for. You try the door, it's locked.* "Crap, I don't have lockpick on me and I'm not strong enough to bust it down." *You look down and see two rocks and some dry branches* "Hey, developers!" "Yes sir?" "Can you make it so I can bang these rocks together, making a spark, igniting these branches, then using the branches to burn the house down?" "Sure!"
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Or throw the rocks through the window... Or scale the roof and drop down the chimney... Or take my axe to the door... Or go home and **** like a feral wildebeast... "I cast magic missle at the darkness!"
Shdy314 Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 "I cast magic missle at the darkness!" YES! God I laugh every time I hear/see that.
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 The Playstation game Summoner made a video of that with the Summon characters acting out the bit, taking the audio from the original bit. It's great seeing a demon in the kitchen going "Can I grab a Mountain Dew?"
Shdy314 Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 The Playstation game Summoner made a video of that with the Summon characters acting out the bit, taking the audio from the original bit. It's great seeing a demon in the kitchen going "Can I grab a Mountain Dew?" Yeah thats the best one. 8 bit DnD is the second best video. And it uses the entire comedy clip while the Summoner video cuts some of it off. If you want to see it Hades_One, and ALL rpg players should see it... Summoner Geeks video http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/220487?htv=12 8bit DnD http://www.cybermoonstudios.com/8bitDandD.html Watch these! You will not be dissapointed! P.S. The demon as the obnoxious one is brilliant!
EnderAndrew Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Thanks for the links! When I get home I'm going to watch them!
alanschu Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 "I cast magic missle at the darkness!" ROFL "cast magic missile" "At what? You're all alone!" "Uh....I'm attacking the darkness" "<sigh>ok....you see an elf." "WHOA!!!!" hehehe
