Spirit Tornado getting a frost AoE makes me want to lean into a cold themed Barb. Secrets of Rime needs to come from multi and druid's spells compliment the vibe with the elements and spiritshift more then wizard/priest would. Unfortunately Spirit Tornado's Cold component only kicks in at lv 19 for a multiclass. No subclass Barb to not deal with Frenzy and Lifegiver Druid because it has the bigger list of free spells I'd want, leaving more ability points to invest into passives. 

Between water/beast/ground spell options I should cover spellcasting options versus Cold Resistant enemies? Melee, Brute Force and Spiritshift always available. Bear or Wolf Form preference, bear roar and AR probably more valuable then Wolf with Knockdown?

There any interesting equipment/synergy for this? Pitfalls to this theme?

 

Maybe Sun & Moon flail for the +2 Frost Power Levels - but it doesn't work during the day (and not while shifted of course).

Bear's bonus AR in combination with Thick Skinned and Woodskin/Form of the Delemgan is pretty decent AR without any recovery penalty. In combinaton with Frenzy and Bloodlust that's very good attack speed. 

Helm of the Aurochs will grant you an additonal freezing lash for your next weapon attack if you got hit. Funnily enough it also procs off of benefical "hits" like healing pulses (see Moonwell etc). Nice addition imo. 

Footsteps of the Beast boots are also thematicially fitting, as is the whole Beast of Winter DLC.

  

 

 

 

Also Acolyte's Frostbite fits well and has good proc, good to gain concentration and I don't know whether Freezing Bite or Freezing Guts proc with carnage (I guess no), but maybe they proc with other spells abilities of Druid/Barb and could be a nice addition.

They only proc on Acolyte's Frostbite attacks, nothing else, but Frostfall can be a good thing :

• Dispersed Suffering work on any kill, and this attack (vs will) is a Frostfall attack however,
• Encroaching Frost enchantment (chance to freeze on crit) work on any Frostfall attack, including Dispersed Suffering.

Also, you can find a mod to unlock the Tekehu's druid subclass with the foe-only frost spells. Of course you are enable to choose the spiritshift as you want in this case..
