I truly loved the first chapter and every run I do is different and immersive... but I always feel like something is missing and I'm sure these ideas might make The Outer Worlds 2 a great sequel!

New weapons and armors, not based on reskins: The first The Outer Worlds had a lot of great weapons and cool armors, but as you make progress in the game, you notice that a lot of armors are simple reskins of armors that already exist (it's only a change of color). I know this might be based on the lore, but expanding the universe with new kinds of armors would just make the game even more immersive and customizable.

Sentient alien races: This is something I would have loved to see in the first chapter: aliens that might be NPCs or even a companion that might join the crew! Aliens could have the aspect of creatures that already exist, for example humans with raptidon/canid heads, or they might add new kinds of aliens such as the greys or anthropomorphic animals. This would make The Outer Worlds an experience with groups of colonies or enemies that have their own laws. This is not very lore friendly but hey, anything can happen in a new system!

Ship customization: The Unreliable was my favorite spot to spend time whenever I wanted to relax in the game and I loved staying with the crew listening to their chatting. But having the possibility to add furniture, decorations and other stuff would have made the Unreliable a lot better, so I'm wishing for it to happen in the sequel!

Romance options: I loved Nyoka as a character, but I was sad when I found out I couldn't romance companions and the best I could do was to make them best friends. Romance options might give The Outer Worlds 2 even more repeatability to the game and unique perks to companions!

These are my ideas. Drop your feedback in the comments, or even your own ideas! I have very high expectations for this game since the first was an awesome experience.

Please, for the love of Law and everything else, let me center the reticle. Please permit me to rebind all of the keybindings.

Not really a gameplay suggestion, just a couple of things that were clearly overlooked or neglected in the first installment.

I would like to have more control over the graphics options without needing a mod. I loathe film-grain and chromatic aberration in games. I'm playing on a 4K with an RTX card, not watching a ****ty VHS cassette. I don't recall if these options were eventually added with TOW, but it didn't ship with them.

Also, some more variety when it comes to... well, literally everything would be nice. Weapons, armour, enemies... I've fought enough Raptidon's for one lifetime in my three runs of TOW1 and I was a little disappointed to see them AGAIN in TOW2's trailer. Isn't this a whole other star system??

Yeah, considering the new star system thing, I was surprised how "Outer Worlds" Outer Worlds2 trailer felt. I suppose it's more efficient to build on what you have, than start from scratch.

As there is still no word on this from @Obsidian, I'll repeat here what I've said in other similar threads about this game: will TOW2 have a third-person option like Avowed? Because not having it is a deal-breaker for me.

Ha it seems like a minor thing but i too would really appreciate a tongle between first/third person fallout style. I don't know why it's such a big deal but it is for me, when it comes to rpgs that is. Beyond that, just give me more outer worlds honestly.

I have an idea for a negative trait in the outer worlds 2 that I think would be really funny and fitting for the game

The clumsy trait

- anytime the player interacts with anything like a door, or picking up an item, they will “fail” at it and have to press the interact button again to open the door, pick the lock, hack the computer, or pick up the item, this can happen at most twice, before it is guaranteed not to happen again

- whenever the player switches weapons, the suffer a debuff that increases weapon sway and decreases critical chance

- sometimes when the player is talking, they will fumble their words, and have to repeat themselves in order to progress in the dialogue tree, they can at most fumble their words twice before it is guaranteed to not happen again

- when the player is handed an item through dialogue they might immediately drop it

- sometimes when the player uses the inhaler to heal (if that’s still in the game) they will incorrectly press it against their face and only receive half of the effect

note: not all of these have to be apart of this negative trait, but the first two at least be apart of it
