If the players walk I blame the owner for not having any self control.

Ok, let me give you an example of your version of economy. Imagine a store that has ten full meals. There are eleven hungry people in the store, and you, Volourn, are the one with the least money. Of course, the ten people with more money than you are going to buy all the food no matter the cost, leaving you hungry. Do this for three weeks and you'd be dead. Would you blame the other people in the store for not having enough "self control" then? There's a very limited supply of top hockey players in the world. The few clubs with alot of money are going to drive up prices on those players (and consequently ALL players) until the poor clubs die.

If the store owner put a price cap on the meal, you'd have a chance of getting some food and maybe you wouldn't starve to death. Star players are franchises in themselves and can turn around a bad trend for a club, both economic and on the ice.

I just realized something. I'm trying to explain something (although pretty basic) to a person with the mental capacity of a rock. I'M DONE.

LOL No youa re not. Why do you lie?

Anyways, as for your example, comapring food which is needed to LIVE to the need of a sports team owner needing players is so ridiculous it flies in the sense of common sense.

Bottom line, it's the owners fault for CHOOSING to pay $10 mil for hockey players if they truly cannot afford it. And, as my team the Rangers prove beyond a shadow of doubt, spending 10s of millions of dolalrs guarantees NOTHING so why spend that much? Simple. the owners are stupid and ahve no self control.

Exactly. Do your job with professionalism and courtesy. Get a big tip at the end of the day. Get drunk. Then curse the GM :p

I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God.

So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me?

Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

Volourn, the owners are stupid for paying $10 million a year, or so you say.

The players are threatening to walk if there is any salary cap. In fact, they've outright said they won't play at all under a salary cap.

The owners realize they can't pay $10 million a year anymore, and are trying to curb things. The players are throwing a tissy fit about wanting more money when there is no more money. Hockey charges more per ticket to attend games than the other sports. The Canadian government gives taxpayer dollars to keep the Canadian clubs from going totally bankrupt. Yet players are screaming for more money.

And you blame owners?

You asked me to look at the playoff teams. Martin St. Lious, the MVP of the NHL says he's jumping ship to the WHL. Yeah, legacy means a whole lot. Joe Sakic of the Av's says he doesn't expect to play and won't compromise on the salary cap.

The owners haven't set do-or-die ultimatims. The players have.

Who's at fault again?

Not if you listen to Gary bettman. He is very admamant about a ahrd cap.

You know the best way for the owners to settle this? Next time a high priced players is a free agent pay them what they honestly feel he is worth not as much money as possible just to outbid the other teams.

Just is the way it is in basically every business. You go for what is the best deal for you.

The owners need to learn self control.

If the players go elsehwere to play that's their chocie. of course, they probably won't be paid as much so if it wa sjust about the moeny they'd stay with the NHL anyways.

The way i see it if a team can't afford to compete then perhaps the team doesn't deserve to be a team.

What you're suggesting takes a few years, and for all the owners to buy into the system of letting players wander.

In the NFL, we're seeing this because of the salary cap. Owners won't pay huge salaries, and are letting players walk. Then the players learn that other teams have salary caps too.

Look how many unsigned players there are in the NFL. Many of them will have to admit their mistake and take less if they want to play next year.

The NHL won't even have a next year because of the players.

No. They won't have a next season because the owners overspend their money on things they can't afford.
