EnderAndrew Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I've had a weakness for their NCAA College Football games. Perhaps I will resist the temptation of the darkside this year.
ultimate_ed Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I dare say that Lucas Arts has Wing Commander to thank for making it possible for the great games like X-wing and Tie Fighter to come to be. I remember buying a Sound Blaster card (8 bit ISA, baby!) because that first Wing Commander had digital audio sound effects and music. Man, I'd love to have a TIE Fighter 2.0 come to pass.
daemonicus Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I've had a weakness for their NCAA College Football games. Perhaps I will resist the temptation of the darkside this year. Not a chance. I love NCAA 2004 even though it has it's faults. A friend got Madden and he says it's ridiculous. The only beef with EA sports games is whenever you have amazing seasons, there's always one game where you are almost destined to lose unless you put up a very hard fight. The computer makes insane plays and suddenly, your amazing wide receivers refuse to hold the ball. The GC has only a couple redeeming titles that made me buy it: RE, Metroid, and Zelda. I think Nintendo has lost touch with their older games or those who want solid RPGs. I fear they may hit the same trail as Sega in the distant future if things don't change. As out of state tuition eats away at my bank account, I'm less desiring to buy console or PC games immediately unless they are just amazing. I've wanted to get Rogue Squadron along with some others PC and GC games but $50 a game makes it a little tough. At least Republic Commando is coming to PC as well as XBox. I've never truely been fond of the XBox but it sure has one thing certainly going for them: the huge multiplayer support with XBox live. That's only something I would dream of Nintendo having to make NCAA Football much more worth it.
EnderAndrew Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I rarely buy console titles in the $50 price range. I wait until I can buy them cheap or used. Thats why I have a huge game library.
GhostofAnakin Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I have a crapload of PS2 games I want to get rid of, but I've never used ebay or anything before, so I don't know how to unload them for a decent return. EnderAndrew Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Sell them to a friend. Gaming stores don't really pay much for trade-ins. Ebay is decent, but you need a credit card. You can always PM me the list. I may buy a few off you.
Shdy314 Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Gaming stores don't really pay much for trade-ins. Depends. Places like Gamespot give you sh** for games. Smaller video game places will give you much fairer prices. They also give even more store credit for them.
GhostofAnakin Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Electronics Boutique gives store credit, up to $25 worth. But I'm not sure if that's for EVERY game, or just newer and popular games. Ender, I'd take you up on your offer except I'm not a big fan of buying or selling over the internet. EnderAndrew Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Fair enough. My cousin just took a stack of GC titles into a small store and got reamed. I see it like any other market. Compare trade-in value to retail value. Selling via eBay or to a friend is more likely to net you a value closer to retail than trade-in. (By retail, I mean a retail transaction on a similiar condition used title). For example. Let's take an average used game that might cost $20 in the store. In order to turn a profit, a store may give you $7 for said title. Selling the game on eBay or to a friend will net you closer to $20.
