AeonsLegend Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 So I'm not asking about having tried it, but which one you prefer. I don't use it myself. Haven't even tried it to be honest.
AndreaColombo Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I’m a RTwP guy. 1 "Time is not your enemy. Forever is." — Fall-From-Grace, Planescape: Torment "It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact. But give him a question, and he'll look for his own answers." — Kvothe, The Wise Man's Fears My Deadfire mods: Brilliant Mod | Faster Deadfire | Deadfire Unnerfed | Helwalker Rekke | Permanent Per-Rest Bonuses | PoE Items for Deadfire | No Recyled Icons | Soul Charged Nautilus
Wormerine Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I think I would prefer TB, if it was done with it from the get go. As it is, system is originally designed with RTwP in mind and as such some mechanics simply work better in the original enviroment. In addition, many fights in Deadfire come down to swinging at enemies and waiting till they die. When I play a good, balanced, challenging encounter, I think I would prefer it in TB. The only real benefit of TB combat is that it is unaffected by performance issues (framerate dipping, and stutters whenever a creature is summonned) which I am experiencing regularly.
Boeroer Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 For this game: RTwP. In general: doesn't really matter and depends on the game. With a slight to Turn Based because of Pen & Paper and Tabletop nostalgia. Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
AeonsLegend Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 I had to look up what RTwP means... Real Time with Pause. Got it.
