msyoung Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 What is your favorite items to use the mythic stones on, weapons or armor and which of each? My favorites are the Essence Interrupter bow and the Chromoprismatic Quarterstaff. I have one stone in my stash and the two new mega bosses to fight so I am expecting two more. Where would you use them?
Ensign Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Chronoprismatic Quarterstaff is the best melee two hander in the game by a mile, definitely a good choice. I like upgrading the Red Hand. Really it's a question of what you're going to use on the remaining megabosses. I like the Last Word, Sungrazer, and Tarn's Respite for my other melees.
Clerith Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 1) If my PC is a weapon user - those 2) My PC's armor 3) 2h party member's weapon 4) Party member tank's armor About like that, I have no super specific item that always gets the stone, usually the gear that's best for the build I'm playing does, though powerful, common stuff like Miscreant's Leathers has become mythic multiple times.

Would be so good, if 2h would not be so much worse than dual wield. You should really hit 2 times with the 2h weapon at a full attack.
guildwriter Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 The -35% damage penalty for dual weapon full attacks makes things close enough it's not really worth worrying about. 1
msyoung Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 One of the things I like about the Essence Interrupter bow is the enhancement to bring the critter I killed back as an ally. It is cool to see a former enemy come back as an ogre and start bashing his former friends.

Hasn't been the case since the -35% reduction on dual wield full attacks and the addition of +1 pen on two handed melee weapons. Dual wield full attacks are only a big benefit to rogues spamming crippling strike, or characters exploiting other synergies (like Kind Wayfarers). It's very close to par for most everyone else. The main advantages of dual wield now are better responsiveness, and that two handed melee weapons have very few quality uniques (and even fewer available early in the game).
