I think it's intended. Did you only just kill her? Because not long after killing her you'll probably find it makes sense due to what happens next.

Even if you mean after the first battle omgFIREBALLS mentions, you get the loot when you leave the map after the other fight, it should be automagically placed in your inventory. If you're looking for it before that, I think it just happens that way IIRC. Didn't look at or notice anything about the bestiary but I never really read the beastiary entries.

 

Just in case anyone searches and finds this, it's actually dropped in an object after you're outside that room.
