Ranged Assassin - Possible to set up Backstab?

Hey guys, 

 

So, I'm working on a ranged Assassin/Ascendant, and I'm debating taking Backstab as part of the build. I know it works with ranged attacks within 2m of the target, but my question is, how awkward is that to set up? Also, is dual pistol Assassin still satisfying to use even though you only get the Assassinate bonus on one hit of a Full Attack from Stealth/Invisibility? 

Use thunderous report from stealth.

 

Honestly I wouldn't spare the point for backstab too many better options

Backstab now hardly worth it for melee IMO. Ranged - just forget it.

That would be pretty ridiculous lol.

 

But yeah generally not worth it.
