Mod translations (localised)

I've got German + Italian sorted (prob French + Spanish too)

 

There are conditions

 

I've promised my friends credits so when you publish I require the following (not all may apply)

 

Name

Email

Website

Services (I stuck that one on for the guys - we can basically skip that I think)

 

As soon as I get to a MOD with localisation I'll be using their services and giving full credit

 

Please note that I'm only asking for credits, this won't affect any financials

 

Ooh - just thought of a native Spain dude I know (cool)

 

Message me if you agree to the terms with the en/../stringtable etc

My friends are welcome to play (I'll set you up your own areas if you desire them)

I could look them up myself, but man, that's so hardcore if you don't know the rules by which the words change. Or if you can't even read the stuff like the chinese translation.

I have friends who speak multiple languages fluently

 

I've got willing translators for de + it ATM - got more friends but not gone searching for any as I don't need them yet

 

I know es, fr ppl but not done them yet

 

I've actually got someone who can even do zh (not ever explored that one)

 

I'm missing pl, pt, ru but there will be ppl who will help

What mod exactly you want to translate? If this about stringtables i can help with russian loc. I'm releasing Russian localization fixes for Deadfire (becose official translation is awful) within 2-3 days and have some free time then.

Yes, i can do this. As you remember, i've asked you to use your work. I don't use colors for Attribute Inspirations - only for Afflictions (eg. Crippling strike with yellow color becose it attacks Fortitude and so on). So it will be not exactly replica of you work. However, i can provide you full translation, just need to finish my mod.

 

You need translation of last version 0.4? Or 0.5?

Sorry I do not remember that interaction, and I could not look it up either. :(

 

For the UI mod you have two options:

a) Provide a full set of colored strings, like Kilay do for Italian

b) Provide a list of all the words that are used for the effects. See the github link to see what I need. With a full set of them I can run the program to enhance the texts with icons. Then you have only to retranslate/modify those lines which do not use the keyword.

I can provide a complete translated files compatible with my russian fixes mod (trough they can be used without it). You don't need to do anything. Becose my mod works as additional language set, users can simply choose their language and add files to Override folder.

German fixes (de_patch) + your mod works exactly this way, i think.

Despite all our good intent it's very hard to get translations done

 

Those of you who have offered are already Mod developers so this seemed a good idea.

 

The concept is let's get some players who wanna use our mods to translate for us (there are a lot more of them than us)

 

Dunno how well, if at all, this will work as that's a VERY busy forum so will prob get drowned out soon

 

If a few Modders keep it alive, e.g. asking for a Spanish translation it will hopefully remain active and gain some traction.

Ok, found your bioware forum thread. Google Translate was quite funny.

But now I understand why your strings are different. For example: I took the colors directly from Spherical, and found them pleasing, as they map to 6 different things. I did not think about the defending attribute for the Afflictions.

 

I would like to add your files for the coloring to the mod. Either by pullrequest here https://github.com/Xaratas/pillarsofeternity-2-Enhanced-UI or by pm.

Well, let's say i have slightly different philosophy ;)

But anyway, i can translate your mod and i will. People, who like your mod, can download translation for full 6 colors, which represent characher attributes. Or stuck with my localization fix, with 3 colors, which represent affliction defences.

I mostly done with v.1.0, just need to check abilities description for last 6 classes (it's a pain), and of course i'll give you more than full credits. After that, i'll be ready to translate your mod.
