The text is translated; there isn't non-English voice over.

Sorry, I guess I was unclear. I mean: What did they do with the fantasy language? Vailian is very similar to Italian, right?

Vailian for friend: aimico

Italian for friend: amico
etc.

I was wondering if that sounds cheesy to the Italian players. I'm a translator so this kind of thing interests me.

They do translate it, it seems. Just looking through the game files (not Italian, I play the English version as well), and for example Merla! seems to become Fotre!

"Merla, she must be desperate! Not so desperate as to come here, on her knees, to beg for herself, but- she sent you.

"No. There's my answer. I get my cut. There's no sense in ruining a good thing."

vs

"Fotre, dev'essere disperata! Ma non così disperata da venire qui, mettersi in ginocchio e implorarmi di persona, visto che ha mandato te.

"No. Ecco la mia risposta. Prendo la mia parte. Non ha senso rovinare una cosa bella."

All the localization files are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\exported\localized by the way (root directory will vary of course, depending on system and such), so you can look at other ones there.

A useful source would actually be the cyclopedia.stringtable file in the en\text\game and it\text\game subfolders. At least some of the phrases are explained in the Cyclopedia after all, so you can just find them in the en file, get the ID, then find the translation in the it file.

Aimico seems to become Aimic, it turns out.

Thank you for the detailed info! I'll check out the localization files.

I wonder if it sounds like bland Italian to Italian players, sort of like some of the characters in PoE1 sounded like they had bland American accents.

Valian doesn't sound italian at all, it's some kind of cute latino accent.

I've come to burn your kingdom down

Yeah it sounds much more Spanish/Portugese than Italian.

nowt

Vailian words sounds a lot Italian.

Belfetto=perfetto

Di verus?=davvero?

Merla!=merda!

Aimic=Amico

Cué=che

Bazzo=pazzo

And so on. But the accent is a mix between spanish/italian

Ps: i'm italian
