Ichthyic Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 After you finish the "Lost Dues in Good Faith" quest, go back to the upper floor of the Wild Mare and tell Aenalys that you saved Oswald (er, assuming you DID save Oswald). There will be new dialogue options, and she will tell you some secrets about Konstanten (dwarf at the end of the hall on same floor).now, go talk to Konstanten, and ask him if he is bored. You should get the option of grabbing him as a sidekick.many will have figured that part out already, but... did you also go back and check out the rooms to rent with the owner downstairs?if you grabbed konstanten, his room will be up for daily rent as a rest space.bonus:+3 dexterity, 30% chance to reflect spells.not bad. 2
gkathellar Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 You don't need to finish Lost Dues In Good Faith for this. All you need 3+ Insight. 1 If I'm typing in red, it means I'm being sarcastic. But not this time. Dark green, on the other hand, is for jokes and irony in general.

Mainly I remember being able to recruit him immediately. If I'm typing in red, it means I'm being sarcastic. But not this time. Dark green, on the other hand, is for jokes and irony in general.
SerenityHarkness Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I finished the quest but had not told Aenalys and I recruited him. I don't remember if there was a check or not though. My perception IS pretty high though so if it IS a perception check without that info that would explain it. It might also be a you noticing something style of perception, or other skill/stat check where having the perception opens up a new branch of dialogue but isn't TECHNICALLY considered a check...which now that I'm thinking about it I think that's right. I feel like one of the symbols popped up and I got a few lines of text about something I'd noticed and than could ask him about being bored or something along those lines and than could recruit him.
Zap Gun For Hire Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 (edited) Yes, you can in fact get him right away in his very first conversation. 2. "How'd you end up here?" 1. "Indulge me." 1. Continue. [Perception 8]. "You seem bored here." 1. Continue. 2. "What's life without a little excitement?" 1. "You could come with me." He then joins you. --- For folks who dump Perception, follow 2, 1, 1 as above. Then select: 2. "Do you like your work?" Every single option except for "4. [Leave] I should be going" will eventually lead to an option to recruit him on the spot. In fact, even selecting that option will bring up the recruitment option the next time you talk to him. Which leads to... WARNING!!!!! When you ask him about his life and go past the "You seem bored here" or the "Do you like your work" options, it locks out the option to hire him as a 'courtesan' in the future. From that point on you can ONLY recruit him or leave him at the Wild Mare. In fact, if you get to the section that has the following options: 1. [Perception 8] "You seem bored here." 2. "Do you like your work?" 3. "I had other questions." 4. [Leave]. "Farewell." The Watcher MUST select the "I had other questions." option and get back to the top of Konstanten's conversation tree and then leave it to keep him as a possible prostitute. If the player choses the [Leave] option at that point in the conversation, Konstanten is also locked out for boons. So if one wants to keep getting his "boon" do not ask him what he thinks about being at the Wild Mare. Edited June 5, 2018 by Zap Gun For Hire 4
