So, I have the Parasitic Staff. And it has me. At first I thought it was pretty nifty that it wasn't going away. As an early game item its not bad, but I now want to replace it. Except I can't. I also can't change weapon slots, nor summon a new item into place.

The problem existed between keyboard and chair.

 

I saved the game while I had a summoned weapon equipped. Apparently this breaks this.

 

In other words, it was a mod. I should have marked this as solved. Sorry for the trouble.
