  1. I've had the same problem lately, with both KoToRs. I've noticed that if you save the game then reload that save, that will fix it. If you have a fast computer that should only take a couple seconds. DW
  2. Just to comment of acouple things I've read here. I too would have liked it if your character has a voice. I kinda liked it when he'd respond "What?", "Sure.", etc etc I notice too alot of the NPCs don't always respond. And speaking of the salvagers, does anyone think that bearded one you save in the eclave sublevel is a Red Green wanna be?? He kinda looks like him, and he kinda sounds like him too. He he. "Take these Jedi artifacts, oh, and keep yer stick on the ice" 2DW2
  3. Trying to make a game like this in 12 months seems like they were just asking for trouble. If the problems with continuity of the ending ARE the result of a rushed release date, then thats just stupid. When will the gaming industry as a whole smarten up? Theres far to much of this "get it out the door and patch it later" stuff going on. If they bother to patch it all. I don't know if it's just coincidence, but if any of you have played Star Wars Battlefront, it's kind of a neat game and I find it fun, but it lacks alot of the features we PC gamers have come to expect from a 3D shooter and it suffers alot from many bugs. The former is probobly a product of the fact that it was made for Xbox as well. But it seems to be the concensus over there that the latter is a result of it being rushed out to coincide with the release of the original trilogy on DVD. Maybe a pattern with LucasArts? I dunno. If what people say here is accurate and it was a time issue, I think Obsidian was playing with fire agreeing to the timetable, but the timetable was Lucasart's in the first place. You might argue with me on this, but I think that if a game developer, any of them, would stand up and say "We will work on a game until it is finished, we will not rush things.", and stayed true to their word, they could make a whole lot of money with a reputation like that. Course, it might require a publisher with the same attitude. 2DW2
  4. I could gain light-side points from the encounter by siding with Kreia, but then Kreia would never de-spawn after the fight, and I couldn't proceed to the next room. I could only talk to Kreia again, and start the whole encounter over from the beginning. I tried a number of combinations, and never found a light-side path that let me proceed, but I didn't try all the paths, so I certianly could have missed something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I encountered that issue with completing the coversation but the doors remaining locked too. Like I said there is someway to get through it, and I *think* it involves siding with Kreia initially then turning on her after she admits she's fallen to the dark side. 2DW2
  5. I agree with alot of your gripes, and it seems there alot of other who do too. But in regards to your mentioning fighting Kreia's image in the tomb on Korriban. Are you sure you have to gain dark side points from that encounter? I went through that scene a couple times myself. Is'nt there some kind of dialogue option that lets you through it while either gaining light side points or having no effect on your status? I think you like, initially side with her, then she admits she's a dark jedi and you then you change your mind and attack her. Or was it decide to defend her anyways so she can be redeemed? Something like that. 2DW2
  6. Yes I had'nt realized how many of these threads there were when I started it. After reading more of these posts I bet if a person tried to touch on every plot hole or problem you'd have a post 5 pages long. I'm going through the game for the second time now. So I'll to see what I think after finishing it again. It's just a bummer that, as someone on the this forum has already put it, the game brings up so many questions, and answers so few of them. I mean, like that cut scene with the GoTo driod and Bao-Dur's remote in the engine room on the ebon hawk. Remote wanders into the engine room, GoTo comes in behind him and blasts him with some kind of ray. The remote appears to explode and fall to the ground/peices of him fall to the ground. It was clear GoTo did'nt seem to like remote, but I was like "Damn! He nuked Bao-Dur's remote! He's gonna be po'd!" So I go to talk to Bao-Dur, and there's his remote hovering around the workshop, seemingly fine. Bao-Dur says nothing. Just one of far too many situations that leave you going "Ok, so what was the point of that?" 2DW2
  7. "4) How the hell did the ebon hawk ever get out of Malacor?! It appeared to be completely wrecked when it was wedged between the two rockfaces. There was also no place for it to take off from, after it fell into the crevass." Yeah those end cutscenes were totally confusing, like many other things in the game. If you look at the Ebon Hawk at the end of the cutscene where it arrives on Malacor, it looks TRASHED! On the right side the hull is bent and crushed in. Aparently the Ebon Hawk's hull is made of "dura-rubber-steel". Once it got shaken loose it just went *booiinng* and returned to it's original shape. 2DW2
  8. I voted for KoToR I for the alot of the reasons people have already mentioned. In KoToR I it was always clear what you were doing and why you were doing it. Once you were finished, you felt like you had done something, there was a satisfying conclusion either way. With KoToR II there were so many things that you saw or did that seemed to be meaningless, and so many loose strings that are never tried up. The storyline just does'nt capture you like KoToR I. 2DW2
  9. "as it sounded alot like the Droid Army theme from the prequels." Funny you mention that. Has anyone else noticed that the droid army theme in Episode 1 is almost identical to the Nazi theme from the last Indiana Jones movie? Only part of the tune is changed. 2DW2
  10. I had'nt noticed this thread before. I had avoided these forums until I completed the game once myself. I always liked the music in KoToR I, and thought I don't think the KoToR II music is'nt quite as good, part of it might be a product of the crummy encoding. I totally agree that releasing a patch with the better music files would be great, I would certainly download it! 2DW2
  11. Personally I used the dude with red hair. I noticed on Peragus there is a guy who's head was clearly based the Revan head I always used in KoToR I. And on Onderon the officer who controls passage from the merchant quarter to the starport used an unmodified version of that head. Made me stop and say wth? every time I saw him. 2DW2
  12. I tried the site, and the couple peices of music I tried don't sound too bad. Though I don't know the music well enough to really be able to say one way or the other. 2DW2
  13. Music in games is always important to me, and like you I really liked the KoToR I soundtrack. The music was great, it had a very star warsish feel to it. I think it added alot to the game I don't think the KoToR II music is quite as good, but it's not bad. I'd agree that alot of the music does'nt really stand out, but there are some new tunes in there that are good. Though it's odd how they make all new music for the in game sequences, but in the transitions between planets they reused alot of the KoToR I music. I don't think the KoToR II music was stellar, but I don't think it detracted any from the game either. 2DW2
  14. I think alot of these are good questions, and I'd like to know the answers to alot of them myself. But I think I can help you with these two 12. How the hell does the main char get ownership of the Ebon Hawk? Until the very end of the game, there is not a clear mention that it once belonged to Revan and even then, nobody makes clear how did the the main char get ownership of it? 13. Why are Kreia and the main char together at the very begining of the game? How did they meet ? No mention about that I can remember of ... I beleive it's established that the PC was on the Harbinger, the republic ship that eventually docks at Peragus at the start of the game. It was attacked and the crew killed. The PC is the only survivor but you are unconscious or hurt. It was then that Kreia arrived in the Ebon Hawk and rescued you from the Harbinger, but then the Hawk itself was damaged. And T3 guided it to Peragus. You then meet Kreia for the first time in the morgue when she wakes up. Assuming I have that right, the real question is how did KREIA get the Ebon Hawk. In a way, it's her ship. I've only played the game once, starting it over now, but I'm pretty sure this is what they tell you. 2DW2
  15. I agree with most of your points., especially 6! I understand my character is not on good terms with the Jedi because he followed Revan to fight the mandalorians. But after everything you do (assuming you went LS), all the good you've done to help people and try to reunite the Jedi and they STILL codemn you and want to take the force away from you again? Doh! 2DW2
  16. I had my reservations about KoToR II from the start when I began hearing about it. But I played KoToR I alot and it was such a great game, it was enevitable I would buy it. But I like some other people, finished it, then wondered what the hell is was all about! I'm sure replaying it will make things clearer. But KoToR I's story, I found, was really great. It was an adventure that reminded me alot of the original trilogy. As the story developed with it's twists and turns I found myself playing more and more, you just had to know what happens next. KoToR II never grabbed me like it's predecessor did. There are alot of graphical tweaks and new gameplay options and features which are nice, I like that. But the dialogue and conversations seem to be flawed in SO many places. Often my character seems to know what a person has said, or information about a situation when I have'nt spoken to anyone else about it. Like you meet NPC X, who tells you they have a problem with NPC Y and would like you to talk to them. But in talking with NPC X you suddenly have a response as if you've spoken to NPC Y already. I'm not talking about any specific case with this, but this is like what happens. Instead of having to go and talk to other NPCs about something, you often get a dialogue option as if you had. Another gripe I had was the pretty limited interaction with your party members, but I see now that alot of that has to do with influence, which I was being pretty ignorant of. So I'll need to put more work into that in subsequent plays, but even then I don't like how alot of the dialogue questions don't disapear after they've run their course. In th case of Kriea it can be annoying because you have to search through like 10 questions looking for something new and try to remember if you've asker her something already. I've noticed too that alot of the conversations have a tendancy to loop back on themselves. Like you ask one question, have a conversation about it, ask a second, have a conversation about it. Then there is a new question in the list, but when you click on it you just get the same response you got from the first question. Sometimes it's obvious that it's a rephrased version of the original question, but sometimes it is'nt. That can get a little annoying. For example Mira was the only party member I turned into a jedi in my first game. But even after that, I still had the diaogue options with her about showing her how to listen to Nar Shadaa? Furthermore, my PC shows her how to be a jedi, but after that, not one word was said about it? Kreia never said one word to me about the fact that I trained one of my companions to be a jedi. None of the other party members mentions it. Even Mira herself, apart from packing a lightsaber and force powers, says nothing about it. Seems wierd. I also find it kinda funny that Atris and Darth whats-his-face with the white mask, the two poster children for this game, seem to play a pretty minimal role. Hmm, this message ended up kind long, but this is kinda the initial impression I have of this game after finishing it once. I'll need to replay a bunch of times but so far I don't think it lives up to the original. 2DW2
